Silent Sentinel:
Reflections of a Priestess of Elune
Speech delivered by Serilda Starsong: Helping Hands meeting – Temple of Elune in Val’sharah.
“Let me begin by thanking the Goddess for this meeting, and for the continued health and prosperity of the Kaldorei. May Elune ever light the path that propels us to victory.
I am Serilda Starsong, a priestess in the sisterhood of Elune and a councilor in the Circle of Aessina. I do not speak today as a representative of either organisation, however. I speak merely as a survivor, as a healer, and as a native of Northern Kalimdor, the forests of which have been my home for thousands of years.
I speak because I am compelled to do so: for the innocent children whose burns I have treated, for the flora and fauna that have been reduced to ash and soot, and for the faces that should be among us today, but are instead lost…
We Kaldorei are a resilient and proud people, and we have faced many serious threats to our lands and our existence. Each time, we have rebuilt ourselves from the edge of oblivion.
To the insinuation that we should expect or welcome reparations from the Horde, I say – Damn the Horde!
Again, I can speak only for myself, but I would sooner welcome death than I would welcome their aid!
No, we do not need paltry gifts or platitudes from those monsters! We need action from our “allies” – action that has thus far been denied us under the auspices of “peace”….Despite general agreement on the importance of Horde accountability, we have seen nothing to bring it to fruition.
The Alliance has unacceptably concentrated its power into the hands of a young autocrat. A ‘King’ untested, with unearned loyalty from his subjects and allies. He and his advisors sit comfortably in a stone palace in Stormwind, while our people are left to wander its filthy streets!
Meanwhile, far from Stormwind, Kalimdor is faced with the very real and serious threat of biochemical weapons in the hands of a terrorist group. The Forsaken have demonstrated a total disregard for nature and a will to commit and encourage atrocities against innocent civilians.
There can be no peace in Northern Kalimdor unless this threat is expunged. The Forsaken must be disarmed of the blight completely, and its use utterly forbidden upon pain of utter annihilation.
To that end, the Alliance must no longer impede or thwart Kaldorei efforts towards justice. No ‘armistice’ can be legitimated until justice is done for Teldrassil and Kalimdor is made safe for the Kaldorei.
We must not accept these attempts to overrule our sovereignty. We must be the authors of our own destiny, and the Goddess is the instrument with which we shall pen our salvation!
Will we take back our rightful place, or malinger in squalid refugee camps?
Zin al Elune, may her light strike our enemies and restore Northern Kalimdor to its rightful caretakers!”
